Faith Kleppinger

Asleep in the Well CD

Features David Barbe of SUGAR! "Midnight roams. Dirty cities. Insomniac maniacs. Street vendor roses. Corner dwellers. Secret passageways. Glory. Heroes in stereo. Shanty towns. Night trains. Real eyes. Half wishes.
This is Atlanta-based singer/songwriter Faith Kleppinger's debut solo album, Asleep In The Well -a stripped-down, woozy, late-night drift through softly-sung stories. Unique lyrical observances and a dreamy sense of melody are the pillars of Kleppinger's songwriting. Asleep In The Well is a portrait of this talent loose and in the raw. Enjoy. Faith Kleppinger was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, attended Indiana University, and currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. She began her musical career as one of the creative forces behind the seminal roots-pop Atlanta band Little Bobby Taylors. As the Taylors wound down, Faith began performing solo around Atlanta and neighboring towns, and was invited to play the CMJ New Music Marathon in New York City in 1999, 2000, and 2001. Meanwhile, she was stockpiling a number of songs for future release. Finally, in October 2001 Faith was ready to record her debut release. She enlisted the help of Blake Rainey (of the Young Antiques) and David Barbe (formerly of Sugar) to flesh out arrangements and provide backing for her haunting acoustic ballads. The effort, Asleep in the Well, was recorded at Barbe's Chase Park Transduction studios in Athens, Georgia in October 2001, and was released on Two Sheds Music in April 2002."
