"For a band to tastefully sample a great range of music is no small feat, but it's one that Chicago's Unicycle Loves You has achieved on their debut self-titled album. It's clear from the onset, in the first track, entitled "Great Bargains for Seniors", this is a band not afraid to venture. This song's trajectory goes as follows: It kicks off with a primal Man Man-like drumbeat and yowl and then segues into a dash of psych rock that recalls the Black Angels, and then eight seconds later into a pop rock melody with a clear, almost campy sounding vocal that reminds me of They Might Be Giants, and THEN doo-wop comes into play! The song skirts back and forth from one sound to the next, somehow managing not to sound schizophrenic. Rather, it's really quite interesting that they are able to pull this off." - Crawdaddy
