The Clientele's third full length is upon us! On the surface it is a stoney dreamy work, not un-like their previous records, but closer attention reveals some new and surprising influences as far reaching as Serge Gainsbourg and even jazz (see tracks 13 and 4, respectively). There are some Monkees parts and as usual some Beach Boys parts, but the Clientele are still in a class all their own. Their sound is unmistakable and they continue to develop a steadfast following with each release. I can't understand why they aren't as big as the Shins. Insert snide corporate funding remark here___. Check them out on their upcoming full U.S. tour in May with the other sickest post twee-gaze band around right now, Beach House.
