Ex-AUTOCOLLANTS / EVENING LIGHTS folks brew up a masterpiece of oldskool shoegaze flavor. It would be difficult to avoid comparing this dense, sweeping production to shoegaze veterans SLOWDIVE or MY BLOODY VALENTINE-- but this is not imitation or ritual. TRR have artfully defined their sound with a subtly seldom expressed by their predecessors. The title track is guided by beautifully layered guitars & controlled noise, at times bursting with rich detail. It dazzles with emotions that swirl up into a crescendo of distortion & ambient sound. Elsewhere, the distinct poppiness of "Blur the Lines" & "Tomorrow" is underlined with a sadness fashioned of boy-girl harmonies. 5 song CDEP in digipak
