The Clock Work Army could be compared to Broken Social Scene in the sense that they are a collective that is comprised of a handful of side projects (each member has their own). Their musical style was best described in a review by Music Matters magazine, stating: "They mix haunting melodies with dancy beats and layer new wave elements like pulsing guitars, keyboard, and hand-clapped rhythms; a formula that has a way of drawing you deep into each song as it crescendos to its height of emotion and musical complexity." The Clock Work Army is on the rise and on the verge of something big. Their fan base has been snowballing, mainly due to their unique style and energetic performances, which have been drawing larger and larger audiences, often surpassing that of the bands they are supporting. Still somewhat a young group, The Clock Work Army has no shortage of new music, and makes each live performance better than its predecessor. They have been hailed by Barfly Promotions (who books for about 300 bands in Southern California) as receiving "the best audience response to a band we've seen this year."
