Drawing influences from Leonard Cohen, Donovan, Ween, Astrud Gilberto, Beck, Nick Drake, and Steve Malkmus, The Bother fuses finely crafted melodies with well conceived lyrics resulting in songs that will leave you happy, sad, and at times tapping your toes. William Rahilly moved to the San Francisco area from New York in 2001, where he focused on writing and recording music. After the release of 'The Night Bleeds Gold', The Bother played a series of shows with bands such as Decemberists, Earlimart, Irving, Film School, and Minmae. Since then, William has moved back to New York to promote the album on the East coast and to begin work on a new album.
