In 1986 Manchester's finest band The Smiths picked photographs from the Sixties in Hamburg for the cover of their album "The World Won't Listen". On-stage of Hamburg's Star Club The Beatles helped to launch the careers of numerous british bands in the 'Swinging Sixties'. Unlike any other town outside of England the seaport put his mark on this time. The band ODGENS from Hamburg is deeply influenced by the city and its traditions. They easily connect the retro element with modern rockmusic. After their first official appearance in Hamburg's LOGO Club on the 13 January 1999 local newspaper "Hamburger Morgenpost" predict a great career for the band. There's no doubt about that because ODGENS are young, they have fantastic songs and a really charismatic frontman. That evening they went off-stage as winners in several aspects. There were interviews for NBC, Radio Bremen, concerts, sold out gigs with the likes of The Stands and The Stills and again recording sessions. The result is a debut which is hard to beat, really.
