The Beat Of Dis-content is the first compilation CD to be released by Auralgasms. It features some of our favorite artists from Auralgasms.com over the last year. The tracks on the CD range in style from Dreampop, to Trip-hop, to Singer Songwriters. Tracks from Twenty-Four Gone, Au Revoir Borealis, Kristy Thirsk, Violet Indiana, Stars, Tyko, Anabret, Production Club (w/ Tanya Donelly), Emm Gryner, Ari Hest, Mark Gardener, Twilight Babies, Daughter Darling, Trespassers William, The Arrogants, Hungry Lucy, and My Favorite. Some notes about the artists: Kristy Thirsk just finished touring as the lead singer of Delerium on their North American tour. Her solo debut, Souvenir, is expected to hit stores this year, which will be followed by a tour of her own. Violet Indiana features band members of Cocteau Twins and Mono. The Production Club is the brainchild of Wally Gagel, musician, songwriter and producer of the Folk Implosion, Old 97šs, the eels, and many others. The track "Devil's Kiss", which was chosen for this compilation, features the vocals of Tanya Donelly, who is well known for her performances with Belly, The Throwing Muses, and The Breeders. Emm Gryner is a singer-songwriter whom has performed at the Lilith Fair, toured with David Bowie, and owns her own record label "Dead Daisy Records". Mark Gardener is venturing out on a solo career after years as the frontman of the British shoegazing legends, Ride. He just completed a US club tour and is back in the studio producing his first full length album. Ari Hest has been touring the last year supporting his release "Story After Story". The Chicago Daily Journal recently wrote "...his warm delivery over an acoustic guitar is well in league with the likes of other twentysomething sensitives John Mayer and Jason Mraz" Auralgasms.com is a website dedicated to the discussion and discovery of under-appreciated and up-and-coming artists. Auralgasms is a venue for the general public to hear tomorrow's hits, today. Auralgasms has featured a number of artists years before they achieved mainstream success. Among those are Dido, John Mayer, Coldplay, Five For Fighting, The Calling, and Nelly Furtado.
